All my reports contain a geography dimension which has all the counties in the United States. For all these reports I am only interested in seeing the counties in my state. Is there any way of opening the reports and only seeing the counties I want or do I have to select them each time I open a report?

I use something called a profile.

To create one I go into the item selection page of my dimension, make the selections I want and then click on the profiles button and save the selection. If you keep the "Activate now" button checked then when you open another report those same selections will be shown.

Once you create a profile when you open up WDS next time it will still be there. So before you even open up a report you can activate the profile and get your selections automatically.

I think you have to sign in to use them.
