Beyond 20/20 Releases Web Data Server 8.2 Print E-mail

Beyond 20/20 Inc is pleased to announce the availability of Beyond 20/20 Web Data Server (WDS), this release (8.2) is now available for download for existing customers.  Please continue to read for a list of functionality and instructions for downloading.

This release provides the following new features:
•    The ability to perform personalized groups and calculations
•    Default repository supporting SQLite
•    Profiles function is now available within the accessibility standards
•    Improved reports updating

As reference, the following features were added in WDS 8.1:
•    Accessibility
•    User timeout
•    User lockout
•    Command Line Publisher enhancements
•    Search enhancement
•    Publisher rights
•    Single Sign-on
•    Improved performance
•    Option to overwrite IVT-based reports, charts, and maps with the saved view during the update process.


As reference, the following features were added in WDS 8.0:
•    Redesigned GUI
•    New publishing
•    Cell coloring
•    Setup - Setup now supports Windows Server 2008 and the use of non-default web sites.
•    Log Analyzer
•    WDS Services - WDS Search and WDS Syndication services have been combined into a single service called WDSServices.exe.
•    User-defined profiles - The behaviour of the user-defined profiles has been simplified.
•    Import folders - The Online Publisher and Command line Publisher can import folders.
•    Administrator and Publishing Help - The Help for the Online Administrator and Online Publisher modules has been translated into French and Spanish.

New features description within Web Data Server 8.2

This release provides the following new features:


Customizable groups, calculations and formulas
Users can create their own groups of items, using either preset calculations or their own formulas.

Support for groups to be included in totals
Row and column totals can now be included within groups.

Default repository
SQLite is provided as a default repository. If selected, it requires no configuration.

Profiles function now available in meeting the accessibility standards
The ability to save item selections as a profile is now included in the accessible version as well as the standard version.

Improved report updating
The publisher now updates reports in the background. This improves responsiveness and reliability and avoids IIS timeouts. The publisher will process pending updates properly, even if the server or IIS is restarted.
