Web Data Server 8.1

This release provides the following new features:

Accessibility

Web Data Server Version 8.1 features a new accessibility mode. It allows users to access pages that conform to the following standards:

    * Government of Canada's Version 2 of the Common Look and Feel Standards for the Internet (CLF 2.0).
    * XHTML 1.0 Strict.
    * Level Double-A of the W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 (WCAG 1.0).
    * Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act Amendments.

* Note: Accessibility is enabled from the Online Administrator, under Site customization> Accessibility.

User timeout

If a user is idle for too long, they are automatically logged out. This is an optional feature. The time before logout is set by the administrator.

User lockout

User accounts are locked out and require to be reset, when repeated login failures occur. This is an optional feature. The number of tries before lockout is set by the administrator.

Command Line Publisher enhancements

Improvements to the command line publisher enable it to perform all the same tasks as the web publisher.

Search enhancement

Users now have the option to search starting from within the current folder.

Publisher rights

Publishers who are not also administrators now have the rights to make changes to the Public Reports folder.

Single Sign-on

The Web Data Server authentication system can now be configured to use other methods for authentication. The system can also be configured to have users added automatically the first time it's accessed.

Improved performance

Improvements in performance and memory usage for searching, item selection, and document management.

Details for Downloading Web Data Server 8.1

   1. Login to our website using your client account (http://www.beyond2020.com/index.php/Log-in.html)
   2. If you don't have an account, you can create one by registering, and we will upgrade the account within 24 hours, so you can have client privileges.
   3. Select the "Product Downloads" link at the top of the page.
   4. Click on WDS 8.1 to download.
   5. Please read the readme file associated with the product prior to installing. It may contains additional details regarding the product and installation instructions.
