Justice

Beyond 20/20 works with criminal justice and crime statistical agencies throughout North America to organize, and publish transaction (incident) and summary crime data on the web to the benefit of law enforcement, other state and local entities, the press, and the general public.

United States justice projects have focused on State Public Safety Departments and State Bureaus’ of Investigation.  Through an appropriate mix of products (Perspective), standard technologies (MS SQL Server), and OLAP publishing services, B2020 has successfully deployed crime data cubes based on incident (NIBRS) or summary (UCR Summary) standards. Made available to stakeholders with varying security levels, internally and over the web, these solutions support every kind of enquiry from cross-sectional to longitudinal and incident details to incident summaries, all qualified by user selected crime attributes, and displayed as tables, charts or maps.

Using Beyond 20/20’s small scale web publishing products, a national centre for justice statistics has deployed multi-dimensional datasets of national, regional and local crime counts/rates cross-tabulated by important crime characteristics. Published using Beyond 20/20’s WDS, this solution is available nation-wide to Centre contributors and authorized research organizations. This approach is also being employed by local US law enforcement agencies in support of their mandate to publish local crime statistics over the web.
